BDO has consistently been a leader in innovation and in making banking accessible, with more than 1,400 branches and 4,400 automated teller machines (ATMs) nationwide. They are a well-known company that supports the strength of women, as evidenced by its endorsements of strong Filipinas and its choice of the two winners for Miss Universe: Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray.

BDO has been searching for innovative ways to reach more Filipinos and Filipinas ever since the pandemic outbreak. Due to restrictions like the ECQ, BDO was able to improve service delivery and boost customer accessibility by leveraging its IT and digital banking investments.

BDO uses the acronym CORE, which stands for “Customer focus,” “Out-of-the-box thinking,” “Right attitude,” and “Excellent execution.” Of these four values, O, or “Out-of-the-box thinking,” has a particularly strong connection to how BDO pursues innovation while also valuing women’s needs.

The bank has concentrated on enhancing remote-access facilities by fusing technology and innovation, increasing customer accessibility and reducing the need for face-to-face interactions. 

But that doesn’t tell the whole tale. Let’s look at these two empowering tales of strong women who benefited from BDO’s technology and innovation in this article. 

  1. Arlene Gener, BDO Network Bank Kabuhayan Loan Grantee

Following the pandemic, businesswomen all over the country worked hard and seized opportunities to expand their companies through online sales and digital marketing. There is no denying that the number of MSMEs, or micro, small, or medium enterprises, has increased due to these devoted women.

Former Overseas Filipino (OF) in Dubai Arlene Gener made the decision to go back home to take care of her kids. She started a rice retail business with the money she had saved up through hard work, but the COVID-19 pandemic reduced her monthly sales. However, Gener was able to maintain her business thanks to the additional funding from the BDO Network Bank Kabuhayan Loan. Her experience serves as proof of BDONB’s dedication to assisting microentrepreneurs in expanding their enterprises.

  1. Diana Angeles, BDO Cash Agad Partner Agent 

Cash Agad, a mobile banking app from BDO, may be the most significant digital product to date if digitalized banking is discussed. Cash Agad enables debit and prepaid cardholders to conduct banking transactions through point-of-sale terminals installed at more than 8,000 BDO partner agents nationwide.

As an example, take Diana Angeles, a BDO Cash Agad Partner Agent who is grateful of the chance to launch her business in Laur, Nueva Ecija. Diana has benefited her community and her business by serving as a BDO Cash Agad Partner Agent. Her neighbors no longer have to travel for hours in order to make a withdrawal thanks to BDO Cash Agad.
